12 on the outside front: 6 top pockets of which 2 will expand to hold the plastic medical box, 2 zipper pockets, 2 hand warming pockets, and 2 large billow pockets. 

Inside pockets include: Holster; Magazine; and key pockets.

The back may be ordered with cartridge loops (to add more clip on pouches) or one large cargo pocket. Also has an interior pocket in the back for a water bladder.
