Why does it cost so much?

There is a lot of personalized care put into each vest. These vests and jackets are not mass produced off shore – in China or any other country. The best fabrics and hard ware that are available are used in each item’s construction.

Is it bullet proof?

Can you dodge bullets? Well, then No. Years ago the decision was made not to mess with the FEDs and not take the responsibility of others people’s lives. What can be done is to recover existing body amour and sewing on the desired pockets.

Do I have to have so many pockets?

No! You have the ability to remove any unwanted pocket with out any extra charge.

What if I don’t want to fell like I look militant?

That’s why the Street Friendly vest can into The Red Thread’s line up. It looks like a common every day fleece vest.

Does it come in any other color than…?

Yes, what color would you like? Sometimes that color may not be available in the fabric you may desire.

Can I customize it?

Yes, if it is physically possible. Most of the time extra charge is minimal – just depends on what is wanted to fit it to your personal needs.

Can I get special patches (police, security, military units) sew on?

Of course, you will need to provide those patches. Those patches will look much better sew on during construction and won’t cost you any more money! Just need to know the placement of those little guys.

Does it come left handed?

Why of course! And there is no extra charge.

How BIG does it come?

How big are you? That’s how big you can get it. There is an extra charge of $20.

Does it come in tall?

Yes, are you 6 feet, 5 inches? No problem. Are you taller? No problem. A few extra measurements are all that’s needed. There is an extra charge of $20.

Can you make a vest to my specs?

Yes, with a sketched lay out of the vest and dimensions for pockets (if needed) great looking custom vests have been produced.

Can you make it to insert Kevlar panels?

Yes, there is an extra charge and that price depends on how you would like to insert those panels.

Can you make a pocket to fit my …?

Yes, all is need is the dimensions of the desired item, i.e. responders radio, insulin kits, GPI’s, cell phone. And the extra charge is minimal from $10 to nothing on one pocket change.

What if I don’t want a vest? I’m a jacket person.

There are two answers to that question. One, a jacket can be made for $40 extra. Two, snap on sleeves are available for $50. But, the vests are more all season with arm holes cut deep for wearing over heavy sweaters and jackets.

Do you do custom work beyond the vests and jackets?

Yes, I have helped many people develop their own products.

Is it Gortex?

Our standard line is comprised of fabrics that have a durable (washable) water resistant finish. Gortex is available as an option. Please call for pricing.
